Our Story
Smashers Elite Sports and Education was founded by former Oakland A's pitcher Christopher Nelson, inspired by a lifelong love of baseball that he shared with his father and childhood coach. The game became more than a sport—it helped shape his character, discipline, confidence, and future.Â

Wanting other young people to have the opportunity to experience what baseball had given him, Christopher set out to make the game more accessible to underprivileged and underserved youth while continuing to do what he loved—the game of baseball. Even the organization's MVP logo carries a piece of that story, inspired by his father and the words "Most Valuable Pops."

What began with love for baseball has grown into a commitment to giving back. Smashers Elite continues to honor the values that inspired its beginning by investing in young people and helping create lasting change in the communities we serve..

Today, that vision continues as we work to give youth the support, resources, and opportunities they need to grow, succeed, and build a brighter future.
Our Mission & Vision
Our mission is to create opportunities for young people to grow, achieve, and build brighter futures. Through competitive baseball, education, mentorship, and life-skills development, we provide youth with the support, structure, and encouragement they need to succeed on the field, in the classroom, and in life.
Our vision is to build a lasting community where young people have access to the opportunities, guidance, education, and support they need to reach their full potential. We envision Smashers Elite Sports and Education growing into a long-term resource for youth and families, strengthened by committed community partners, donors, and sponsors who believe in investing in the next generation
Our Leadership Team
Our leadership team is united by a shared commitment to the youth and families we serve. Together, our officers and Board of Directors provide guidance, strengthen community connections, and help move the vision of the Smashers Elite Sports and Education forward.
